Bare! True Stories of Sex, Desire and Romance brings together storytellers, comedians, sex educators and others to share true tales from their own experiences of sex, desire and romance. With stories as diverse as the people telling them, Bare! opens doors to bedrooms, back seats and dungeons to tell what your mama left out about the birds, bees and in-betweens. Jefferson is the curator and host of Bare!, regularly in Boston, New York, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. A sex educator and writer, Jefferson keeps a pseudonymous blog, One Life, Take Two, that details his life as a parent and pervert. He is a storyteller frequently seen on stages around New York and elsewhere, including The Moth, where he is a StorySlam winner. He is also host of Foreplay! A Sexy Storytelling Open Mic, biweekly in New York. A former elementary school teacher with a lifelong passion for the bizarre and filthy, Monica now works as a Domme and sex-positive educator. She sometimes takes her clothes off and performs under the name Carmen Monoxide, and her favorite things include cephalopods, sparkly stuff, goat cheese, meeting new people and coming. Monica: educator, BDSM worker, exhibitionist, orgasm enthusiast and general troublemaker. JT Bullock is poet, writer and storyteller who has published in academic journals, including Note Bene. He has competed in three National Poetry Slam competitions, most notably in 2006, when he ranked 19th nationally. JT was featured at Sparkle, a queer reading series at Busboys and Poets, and at Capturing Fire at The Fridge DC. Bambi Galore is a veteran of the performance art scene. Having taught and led courses up and down the East Coast, her main foci are in burlesque and drag identification, both male and female. She has won honors at drag, burlesque and queer pageants with her ability to connect with and electrify audiences. She is considered an invaluable resource for those learning about these art forms. Notable students have included Dolli Holiday, BooBoo Darlin’ and the Roman Mafia. Kevin T. Phillips is a comedian, entertainer, and ordained Minister living in the very busy Washington, DC. A hypervigilant personality raised in Kansas, Kevin really only knows how to talk loudly about two things: ideological hypocrisy and sex. Just to be clear, he’s usually joking about his own struggles with both. When not trolling the east coast for stage time, Kevin can be found hosting the MMA comedy podcast Verbal Tap (available on iTunes), or tweeting about his day @phillipskevin1. Victoria Rocha did her first storytelling show with Speakeasy DC in February 2012 and has been hooked ever since. She has been lucky enough to grace stages in Washington, DC with Story League, Bare!, Naked Girls Reading, and Mortified; Better Said Than Done in Northern Virginia, and through the guidance and encouragement of DC mentors, had the opportunity to perform with First Person Arts in Philadelphia.
