This place was Great! Had dinner the food was outstanding more then i ever expected from the quality to the final presentation. It was so great we went back the next day for brunch. The service and the personal attention was outstanding. Thanks again, we will be back. I frequent at least 5 restaurants a week throughout the eastern US and I would have to rate you one of the to 10!

The recently renovated City Cafe is a total disaster. The prices have gone up up up so it's no longer a reasonable burger (now over $11) and Beer ($6.50 for 14oz draft).
Let's face it, the food was never that good. Fair at best but you went there cause it's gayer than anywhere else in town and you got two experiences. The dining room for drinks and food and the cafe for coffee and free wireless.
Well now you HAVE to spend $5 for an hour of access and all the charm of the floors and furnishing have been replaced by those butterfly chairs that only homos with culturally enforced antiseptic taste would pay the $300 a chair at Pad (silly furniture store in fells point).
The Martinis are still big and the service is still faux friendly, like that trick you nicely said goodbye to and then ripped up his number before you got in the car.
So locals will go cause where else can you cruise before 10pm and tourists will continue to go cause otherwise Baltimore is a damn NON gay town.
Just go knowing it's a gay restaurant not a good restaurant.

I would rather be here than just about anyplace else. Food is great, whether one wants comfort food or something creative. Very sociable bar where people like to meet each other, and no attitude. Super friendly wait staff that makes me feel like a welcome friend.

Excellent food and the people are very friendly there over the years I have become a regular there and gotten to know some of the workers there. It is nice they know you by name and face. I like that.

City Cafe has a new chef and I tried all but one of the chefs features last night and the food was amazing!!!They are still undergoing a lot of renovations so the decor isn't the greatest but when its all said and done their grand reopening is going to be great. I love the 80's music it makes the atmosphere fun and the diversity of the place makes it very comfortable.

It's a cafe/restauant, it's ample, there's always a place to sit, never have to wait. They have outside seating which is nice in the summer. Very good for hamburgers and they have my favorite crab cakes in Mt. Vernon.

Near the Hippo and Central Station, enjoy an eclectic menu and window shop along Eager and Cathedral Streets. Informal cafe and restaurant with the best in lite snacks, sandwiches, and salads. They make great drinks too.

Most impressive are the drinks - large and very well made! The food is quite good and portions are large. Many of the items are home style - meatloaf, chicken, terrific steaks, salads and all at reasonable prices. While it is difficult to park in this area, it is an easy walk from the gay bars.

City Cafe is a great place for weekend brunch, dinner before a concert, or just reading and relaxing with coffee. Mixed cuisine ranges from sandwiches and burgers to gourmet entrees. There's a cafe section where you order at the counter, a full-service restaurant and a bar. Close to the Hippo and Grand Central bars; also close to the Baltimore Symphony and Opera.
So, what do you say?
